 Merits:  Still the same, sadly.  I'm about to TRY and work on this some.

Hell...yes.  I'm going to be up to my neck in debt for a bit, but hopefully some BCNM and some solo/Limbus action can whittle that down quickly.

Goals for near future (after paying off debt, and including meriting:)

Tweak nuking set to include more mp.  Ixion Cape, namely.

Ixion cape also helps with my next item:  Reduce gear carried for Stoneskin set.  This, is a problem.  I carry 3 extra pieces around just to cap stoneskin right now, and that's annoying.

I'm also really interested in a Flawless Ribbon for my standing set.  I'd love to read on it's proc rate for intimidation, but can't really find any.  Of course, I'll need a non-cloak refresh piece (Sorc. Coat, anyone?) before I can even think of this seriously.

 I'm gonna start using this again, mostly to keep my own head straight on goals for BLM.

Current merit setup:

Elemental Magic:  8/8
Enfeebling:  5/8 (have 3 in SMN Magic, will finish this last, since I'll lose those ; ;)
Burst2:  5/5
Freeze2:  2/5 (working on this now)
Thunder pot:  5/5
Ice pot:  5/5
INT:  1/5

I THINK I'm going to finsh off Freeze 2, then have at INT.  I may change my mind on that, as our little LS doesn't really use MB, ever.

My current "goal" is to get 2 more INT merits.  This will enable me to use my wiz. gloves +1 over errant for my 150 build.  Less gear, more elemental magic.  Fuck yeah. 

Working hard with Gemi on just buying some Herald's Gaiters.  God WANT.

I've been feeling kinda shitty lately about my LS event attendance.  The fact of the matter is, it's just been a buffer issue really, and I'm embarrassed to admit it.  Every time I get back up around 12k buffer, I just lose it so fast.  Makes meriting very trying.  Thank god Day is there to help me keep my sanity.  

In lighter news, Piggie and I have been doing daily assaults, keeping me from having to worry about Salvage permit costs.  GO PIGGIE.

Actually, that sums it up nicely.

Long time no see sports fans.  In my normal flaky manner, I've headed off in another direction.

A few (literally) years back, I leveled Ranger in response to desiring to do Ballista, but constantly getting my SMN ass whipped in it.  Many were the time I was a primary target, and my demise was swift.  So I plunked RNG along to 56, and had much joy wreaking untold havoc in 50 cap matches. 

And then I got bored of it.  Leveling RNG is rather pricey.  At the time I had no real means of keeping up funding for it, so I just tossed it aside.

Fast forward to just a few months ago.  Tempyst was putting together a party, and I laughingly gimp geared my RNG to join it.  And I loved it.  God help me, I loved it.  So, it sat in the back of my head for a while, but I was so busy with BLM I just had no time.  Well I finally got most of the things I wanted accomplished with BLM done (I still have many merits needed mind you) and finally have gotten around to putting the weed hat back on.  I'm loving it.

I think having a "melee" job around will be good for me, given my obvious desire for change.  A healer job, a magic DD, a straight DD, and a "fun" job (SMN anyone?) is getting pretty rounded out. 

Of course, this job is still insanely expensive to be competitive wih, especially as a Tarutaru.  Thankfully, I have a little angel named Geminiwolfcub looking over me.  I can't begin to explain how much she has helped me.  We have a little fund going, that we add to as we can, and get things we want.  I say "we", but to be fair she does such a lion's share of the work it's really hers.  Suffice to say, she is very very good to me, and a total sweetheart.

In other news:  PM is still going fantastic.  I was a bit nervous about getting back into the endgame scene, but doing so has been very rewarding with this group.  I still have tons of fun with them.  We set up a little Ventrilo server, and getting to know more of the members via voice has proven pretty rewarding as well.  I honestly wish more people would get on there though.

I shall try to update this more often, even if with small blurbs.  As is, it's hard to follow and too irratic due to lags in posts.

Capping Thunder was nice, but some resists on enfeebles today in Mount Z. convinced me that enfeebling should be my next to cap.  Burst 2 merits, I'll be there soon my pretties.

I know it's not HUGE, but I thought chain 6 for duoing mages on ITs was pretty nice.

Since my last update, good stuff all around happening.  Got a nice little A.Head drop off Genbu last Saturday.  This was very nice timing, as it helped reduce the number of pieces I'm carrying around for HP down/latent activation.  It also enabled me to remove the body piece from my activation macro, which was the most common piece to "lag out" and not change back to nuking gear.

Also have made it to 36 on RDM.  Gemi and I have been picking up parties with Isla and Temp and Piggie as we go, and rounding it out with some duoing here and there.  I snuck to fafnir last night as BLM/RDM, one lvl gimpy sub.  Well, learned something new:  With fast cast 1 and 2, and loquacious earring, I cast stun too fast to claim.  First time that crap ever...ever happened to me.  I may change my claim macro to Stone 1 or something...not sure yet.

I'd like to ask you to all pray, that as we go on a Byakko Bonanza tonight after Einherjar, that that fucking pussy drops his pants for Tempyst and all those in line before him.  Praise Bob.

Been a total whore and soloing as BLM75/RDM27 lately.  It really just means no stoneskin, some INT missing (but still more than /whm) and no fastcast 2 yet.  This ultimately means that I occasionally eat a thundaga 3, but the exp is still so worth it.  Merits are coming along, slowly.  Once I get RDM to 34, the merits should come faster.  Speaking of:

I'll do the crit hit/spell interruption/MP/etc after all of that is done.  I think I'll finish off Ice and Thunder potency first, then do enfeebling, then INT, then tier 2 stuff.  We'll see...I'm flaky.

I put a link on the side over there to my FFXI AH want page.  I like that I can actually put stuff on there that isn't even auctionable.

Getting RDM to 37 is looking like more of a reality within the next month or so, instead of within the next century.  Formed a small static, so hopefully this will come to fruition.  I'm gonna cheat like mad, and start subbing it on Black Mage @ 35.  No real reason not to.

I'm really quite excited about it just hitting 34 honestly.  At that time, I'll be able to use it to solo.  Merits a go go.  Dying to cap thunder and burst 2, along with all my other garbage.

Ok.  So tonight one of the best experiences I've had in a long time happened.  First off, did some Fafnir camping (boo).  Then, decided to stay up and help on an Ultima run with PanicMotion.  I really have only been to Limbus with PM about 4 times, so didn't expect a thing.  Was in all honestly just along to help and for the ride.  Well, as Kitone started listing lots, it seemed Ultima's Claw would floor.  I didn't think much of it, as I had 0 coins to pay for it, and in all honesty I'd given up on the Gages some time ago.

Enter:  Ikarys.

This gunslinging stud, without asking, offered to pay my coin cost should the claw drop.  What.  A.  Fucking.  Stud.

Last night was pretty fruitful for PanicMotion.   Did a tier 1 Einherjar, followed by a couple of bitch slaps of Ouryu, and even managed to snag a behemoth.  Did get some footage of Ouryu for my end of year film, but haven't looked at it yet, so not sure how it turned out.

Gemi and I continue to duo our magey jobs.  We finally both got past 24, so reraise earrings are making the whole thing a lot more pleasant.  Furthermore, the Goblin Pathfinder / Bee camp in Yhoator Jungle is making life pretty simple as well.  The quest for RDM 37 continues.
